Today is a day of celebration. June 19th commemorates the day Major General Gordon Granger announced in Galveston, Texas the end of slavery in 1865.

Today we honor Juneteenth - the day Union soldiers brought the news of freedom to enslaved Black people in Galveston, TX - 2+ years after the Emancipation Proclamation. We are honored to have the platform to share some of that culture through the work of talented Black artists.
