During my visit to I saw the exhibition ‘Fighting Talk’ telling the personal story of foundling George King who went to Trafalgar, spent over two decades at sea and later lived at the Royal Hospital in Greenwich. It’s on until 27th Feb

This day 4 October 1646 death of Thomas Howard, 14th Earl of Arundel, a prominent English courtier AND patron of Inigo Jones. Howard made his name as a Grand Tourist & art collector rather than politician, during the reigns of James I & Charles I and once resided in Greenwich.

Agnes Beckwith one of the greatest swimmers. On 1st September 1875 swam from London bridge to Greenwich.

OK one more from Greenwich. Caught a on the Thames. It only stuck around for a minute or so and was always moving so slammed sketch down with sepia fineliner & made up details/colors later.

Attempted the in my w/c moleskine for at Greenwich. I don't do pencil sketch - want to improve accuracy so NO eraseable media. Sepia fineliner for sketch then watercolors via waterbrush, black brush pen.

Later, his body lay in state, in the Great Hall at The Queen’s House, Greenwich.
