In honor of #HispanicHeritageMonth, we pay tribute to the #MujeresofTheMovement, starting with Helen Chavez, born 1928 in California's Imperial Valley. Humble but fiercely determined, Helen was Cesar's strongest supporter & a surrogate mother to countless movement volunteers.
And for the LAST day of #HispanicHeritageMonth, a character that deserves love, Victor Alvarez aka POWER MAN! Victor Alvarez is a young chi wielding hero with a short fuse. After discovering his abilities, he became a self employed Hero for Hire and dubbed himself "Power Man."
To kick off #HispanicHeritageMonth, here are works by Luisa Roldan, The Education of Mary and The First Steps of Jesus. "La Roldana" was the first recorded woman sculptor in Spain. Her small, jewel-like, religious polychrome works are personal and affecting. #WomenSculptors
To kick off #HispanicHeritageMonth, we teamed up with Mexican-American artist Loris Lora to create today’s #GoogleDoodle honoring Ynés Mexía. Her career as a world-renowned botanist bloomed after she discovered a new genus of flowering plants. 🌼
