Hoje O Hobbit completa 85 anos.

Tolkien queria publicar O Silmarillion, mas a editora o recusou e preferiu encomendar uma sequência de O Hobbit, devido ao sucesso que o livro fez.

Foi então que Tolkien escreveu O Senhor dos Anéis e o encheu de referências ao Silmarillion.
