Another wonder from the Lower #Triassic, when the earth was still recovering from the great mortality. #Hupehsuchus was a marine reptile with an armor of osteoderms on the upper part of its back, something very rare in marine reptiles.
New to the internet #paleoart for #FossilFriday: the complete version of a Hupehsuchus nanchangensis image I drew last year. Hupehsuchus is a super weird Triassic marine reptile with an armoured back and incredibly thin lower jaw. There's no crazy like Triassic crazy.
#GetYourArtUnderwater: Hupehsuchus, Parahenodus and Paludidraco
Earlier this year I was a part of A Dinosaur A Day's #Triassic-March-Madness, which involved reconstructing some of the Triassic's weirdest hellasaurs, including the marine reptiles Hupehsuchus, Atopodentatus and Shonisaurus. Somehow none of these won, go figure.
