In 1567, in response to Spaniards systematically burning Maya codices & scrolls as heresy, Couoh began collecting hundreds of these documents to protect them from the Inquisition. He eventually led a Native revolt against Colonial rule.

I can't say a ton about him without spoiling a lot of things for various plots... but he's the current head of the Inquisition. Good hearted and well respected (despite his habit of napping in his office) he does his best to take care of those under him and keep peace.
