#Inostrancevia, one of the most majestic permian animals... The model is based on a photogrammetry of the skeleton (the color is inspired by an illustration by D. Bonadonna, we created it for the "Museo delle Scienze" in Trento) #permian #synapsida #Gorgonopsia
@Bastianwerewolf I had to pick which would fit the gore-y style the best, and I think that'd be my Inostrancevia, Merlin! Thank you for the opportunity!!

Tip for paleoartists: if drawing a scene of the Great Dying, don't use Scutosaurus or Inostrancevia, those were already extinct by then. Use fauna from the Vyazniki Faunal Assemblage, as those were the closest to the PT Extinction.

I love the Gorgonopsids, especially Inostrancevia, but that wasn't the only big Gorgon. Rubidgea and his African relatives rivaled the big I in size. Rubidgea atrox is the type species. Up to 11 feet long, almost 2 foot long skulls, big sabers.
Arctops was a Gorgonopsid like Inostrancevia, but smaller at 2 and change meters long, and its name means 'Bear face' because it has a shortened muzzle.
I wanted to share all my #sixdinoarts in one spot, so here are the first four! Clockwise from the top left, the species are Hatzegopteryx, Stegosaurus, Inostrancevia, and Barbourofelis!
This will be hard to let go! I love this short muzzle inostrancevia, i decided to keep the inostrancevia anhtro base, there will be more fangy bois.
