On 1990 the Oka Crisis (Kanesatake Resistance) began when the Quebec Provincial Police raided a Mohawk effort to stop a golf course expansion. Kahnawake shut down highways & the Mercier Bridge in solidarity. Indigenous people across the continent showed solidarity.
