‘Namuru’ is a Japanese translation of a Korean dish (Namul), similar to how Shigeru Miyamoto got Bowser’s name Kuppa!

Beverly is named after Beverly Cleary, a famous librarian / author, much like how the Koopalings’ names were inspired by famous musicians :D
