Of note, Ōkouchi also contributed scripts to Wolf's Rain (2003), Planetes (2003-04), Space Dandy (2014), and Devilman Crybaby (2018).
Ōkouchi was brought to help script Turn A #Gundam (1999-2000). He worked closely with Tomino, writing a total of 4 episodes. In fact, they worked so well together that Tomino chose Ōkouchi to oversee his next show, Overman King Gainer (2002-03), as lead writer.
Well, whaddya know?
Ichiro Okouchi, the writer for G-Witch is known for writing some episodes for Turn A. One of the episodes he wrote had a plot involving a failed attempt from a character to escape to Earth in space through means that were highly unlikely.
Sounds familiar.
The writer for MSG: Witch From Mercury has more than enough experience dabbling in LGBT themes. Ichiro Okouchi (大河内一楼) also wrote the light novel adaptation for Utena and over the years served as Series Composition for series such as Princess Principal and SK8 the Infinity.
