💕Val Realism Challenge💕

Saw LavenderTowne's video where she draws a realistic version of her character, so I was inspired to do the same. It doesn't look very realistic, but it's closer than my usual style and it's my first time drawing a realistic face so I'll call it a win💕

Hi here’s planchette from LavenderTowne’s comic Unfamiliar but i went a little overboard with the coloring

chunky shoes
character shaped eyes (like hearts, stars, apples etc)
ppl who use stickers
just bright stuff in general

EX: lavendertowne , oceaninspace , skeet cakes https://t.co/dzj4ko1IR0

I wanted to experiment again! The art style ended up looking a bit like lavendertowne’s art haha, maybe it’s the big eyes

2020→2022
Traditional to digital! :D ⭐
I had a lavendertowne and Appleminte phase which is more obvious on older drawings before trying a digital ipad that is now so old, it has my first digital drawings🤭
(Nothing can beat my dad's old phone that had a pen + notes app)

Planchette from Unfamiliar!
A cute, yet haunted kitchen witch.

Lavendertowne did a simple character creation template and I thought I'd use it for 2 developed characters and 2 underdeveloped characters. Pretty good advice. The first thing you should think of are hobbies! I've made characters for years, but never prioritized that.

nah nah nah cos shit like this is why my character design became bland for so long, and why I felt too scared to design characters in the way I wanted. I don't like lavendertowne in general I'll be honest with you but literally shut up lol?

No cuz when I saw the shades of those skin tones, I legit stared and went "I am literally none of these XD" Plus, it may just be my eyes, but the skintones don't necessarily match the selected tone, so I was hella confused XD

No hate towards lavendertowne tho, this is just..hmm

Green guy is my 'too boring' and the angel is my 'too much'.
Actually the angel was gonna have hip wings too but it cluttered up their silhouette.

Also Lavendertowne's vid is brill and is helping me flesh out my secondary and tertiary characters 💜 https://t.co/1VEru0L4NQ

since Lavendertowne did a.. strange video showing how to make OCs properly
here's how i chart mine! and how you shouldn't be afraid of using more unnatural colors if it fits your idea, using too much pastel can suck as much as too many vivid colors

I’mall for lavendertowne slander cuz I can be on both sides of the spectrum
(Characters I designed for both me and a friend)
