Created a new upgrade animal dream creature for today. Hmm...what do you think they could have in common?

Got the inking done on Nemo's jump from his bed to start levels in The line art modifier in made this a much smoother process, since I didn't have to trace the bed's 3D model by hand. Now on to when the bed flies away!

Okay this is super neat: in 2D animation tools (#greasepencil), you can create a modifier for 2D objects that traces 3D underlay stuff in your scene. This just saved me a TON of time! Now I can focus on drawing Nemo!

Today's work: more on the level entry, specifically where Nemo jumps into the level. Very but I thought folks would like to see how 3D fits into our roughing process! Nemo cuts out of this sprite and into his jump where marked

update - the Sandman's throw animation is done. This should be a fun enemy type to add! I enjoyed animating his Pigpen-style dust cloud.

I also added some new to the first monster you'll see, the Mome Rath ("pig chicken"), so that it can do more. We're thinking of having it jump off ledges rather than just fall and adding a hopping "paratroopa" version.

Here's also a hit frame for when you fight the character. There's nothing moving to show on this one, so I'm including a picture of the Dream of the Rarebit Fiend that this creature is based on.

Little Nemo's tumbling animation for Little Nemo and the Nightmare Fiends is done! This will play during the game over screen as players decide whether to wake Nemo up or go back into Slumberland.

Playing around with halftone/Ben Day effects and post-processing in to unify some of visuals and get a more aged comic strip look (plus desaturating backgrounds for more readability)
