Georges Méliès began work on the revolutionary sci-fi film A Trip to the Moon in May of 1902.
In June 2010, @amymebberson illustrated a reference to the film's most iconic image (depicting the Swinetrek crashed into the eye of the moon) in an issue of The Muppet Show Comic Book.
