Yr3 Painted happy ink owls in the style of Australian artist Jessie Breakwell.A tricky medium to control,It runs,blurs,splodges & spills😂but that’s its charm! Such vibrant pure colour brightened us up & filled the studio with cheer on a grey day @JessieBreakwell #melthamart
Art & Literacy💂🏻♂️Yr1 are proud to have made a tricky Nutcracker soldier character from card & wood-cutting,sticking,templates,colouring& pen work. The Nutcracker &the King of Mice was written by E.T.A. Hoffman in 1816. We’ve even created a dance to support our learning #melthamart
Yr2/ The only mammals that truly hibernate in the UK are hedgehogs, dormice and bats.Other woodland residents become less active.We painted UK Woodland animals getting ready for winter/ playing in snow/cosy in burrows or thinking about hibernation #melthamart @WoodlandTrust

Yr 1 have studied the African artist Edward Saidi Tingatinga (1932-72) 🐆🦏🦒🐘🐃His painting style is still very popular and today artists make work like his for tourists in Tanzania and Kenya to buy- I wonder how much a tourist would pay for one of our paintings?💰#melthamart
