Mariya Ivanovna Vassiliéva, better known as Marie Vassilieff (1884-1957) was a Russian Empire painter. She moved to Paris at the age of twenty-three and became an integral part of the artistic community of Montparnasse.

A warm-up sketch I did of famous Parisian artist’s muse, Kiki de Montparnasse. I used this to experiment with some new brushes and black India ink when I had some repairmen in to fix my bathroom.
