岐阜まで足を伸ばしてNIFSの見学へ。実験中なのでLHDは見られないが管制室やプラズマ発生の様子はよく見れた。1枚目左上のモニターでもわかる通り、もうすぐ通算実験回数は16万回に。
旧式のヘリオトロンの観察窓に担当研究員がそれぞれ女性の名前を付けていた痕跡があるのがちょっと面白かった。
