The history of football, the people, places, moments and ephemera, are what interests me most and I began to illustrate the players I could recall my grandads talking about. I wanted to capture/recreate actual historic moments but in my own way.

Also had the pleasure of doing work for Sunderland for a season. Highlights were seeing the Wear-Tyne Derby, getting a tour of the Stadium Of Light & seeing where Roker Park once stood. Weird to see it as a housing estate now - so much history played under those houses

...... while walking in front of the Man City bench (towards the tunnel), Roberto Mancini reacted to something on the pitch, jumped up & nearly ran into me, swearing in Italian the whole time! I couldn't tell if at me or the play. Probably both
