Here's a piece I created for the upcoming The theme was Renaissance and I decided to respond to this in a very direct way, drawing inspiration from the heroic depictions of Saint Michael and Saint George that were painted throughout the period.

Wow! Very happy to announce that my entry for the has been shortlisted! The theme was ‘Monkey’. I illustrated the legend of the Hartlepool monkey.
He (or she) was the sole survivor of a shipwrecked French ship, and was hanged as a spy.
