The one used for the Western computer versions was made by Robert Florczak. Paul Kidby probably used his illustration as a reference to draw the cover art of the Game Boy and NES versions.

I just remembered how badass Ubisoft made Prince of Persia. I hope they don't fuck up the remake. It's not hyper realistic which is good but that trailer seemed a little sketchy.
