So the Quilin is based upon the "dragon unicorn" qilin, kirin, kỳ lân etc. But I actually would've liked them to resemble more unicorn like the Kirin in mlp.

Qilin, like many chinese myth creatures, are designed like chimeras and represent a moral ideal. Over time it was drawn more horse-like, and with 2 horns instead of 1. I chose to depict it with 1 horn in the hairbun holograms because personal preference (and saves time LOL)
