I need an excuse to make a project centered around mecha designs (to train my mech designing sense), so I made gakutensoku into a retro sci fi setting
when it comes to character designing, I make sure I gather enough necessary materials online, be it from wikipedia, fashion mags or even historical encyclopedia.
For example, if I made a OC with sailor aesthetic, I would google nautical and military fashion all day
