Does the fact that Suicune used to be a dinosaur-like creature imply that mammals in the Pokémon world are highly-derived diapsids? Or at the very least that dinosaurs split off before synapsids did? https://t.co/KlnDur2TTF
Did a little experiment on Death.
What if he's a gorgonopsid instead?
Well, Cuz wolf and gorgonopsid are both synapsids anyway...

I have a question. What is your favourite extinct dinosaur (avian and non-avian), pterosaur, non-ornithodiran reptile and synapsid?
I would have to go with Allosaurus europaeus, Dearc sgiathanach, Varanus priscus and Inostrancevia alexandri
I just think they’re neat
Synapsids of Jurassic Park
It was great to see them finally introduced to the franchise, albeit very late - even if the Smilodon was done terribly dirty. Personally, I think they should've been there since the original. They should've never limited themselves to just dinosaurs.
Paleo Fact!
Secodontosaurus (Cutting-Tooth Lizard) is a synapsid from Early Permian North America! Similar to its famous relative, Dimetrodon, it had a large dorsal sail! But unlike Dimetrodon, and most other synapsids, it had proportionally - (1/2)

My image of two big South African gorgonopsians from Late Permian, waiting to be described. Meet Helga and Raymond! #gorgonopsia #therapsid #synapsida #paleoart
Despite having what you could call a “lizard” body plan #Ophiacodon was an early synapsid, the group that would eventually evolve into mammals.

@j_stocky tied between my megafaunal dickinsonia and my synapsid that looks like the simba king lion triceratops lmao
Little Inostrancevia in a watercolour style to hide the fact I don’t know sh*t about anatomy.

What is your favourite Non-mammalian Synapsid?

A trio of large synapsids, the Jonkeria truculenta, approach the river to drink some water. The amphibian Rhinesuhus whaitsi seems to be bothered by these thirsty dinocephalians, and opens its mouth wide to scare them.
im completely a novice but weird little dude reminds me of the weird permian synapsids shapes 🥹🥹 https://t.co/idFfBAjrFZ
Dimetrodon or “two measures of teeth” is a non mammalian synapsid that is easily recognised by its large sail
At up to 4m long and 250kg in weight, it would have been the apex predator of its Permian ecosystem (~295-272 Ma)

Cotylorhyncus was an herbivorous synapsid that lived during the Permian. It also had a teeny-tiny head. Why was its head so small? I honestly don't know. If you have more info, please let me know, I am begging
Meet the Dimetrodon (Dimetrodon angelensis), a large synapsid (NOT A DINO) of the sphenacodontidae family. Model based on a recent study on the sail (credit: Christian Kammerer). Colors based on Rebecca Groom's illustration #dimetrodon #synapsid #Minecraft #Blockbench #extinction
