Long story short there are many different types of units in the master systems, and Volnutt along with all the people in mml are carbons.

They can replace their organic limbs with robotic ones, but can reatach again if they want to. (same goes for joe and teisel)

I like how they set up Teisel as this sinister mastermind with the slow shot of his massive ship and his brooding tough guy neck crack and then he immediately opens his mouth and he's even goofier and nerdier than Tron
