Artoria Pendragon

One of the earliest locations associated with Arthur is Tintagel Castle in Cornwall, where Arthur was supposedly conceived between Igraine and Uther (disguised as Igraine’s husband). Today it boasts impressive ruins and a beautiful view of the ocean.

Coming to the last of my paintings from The last two are little ones. Though I’m not really an artist that works small, it’s kind of cool to be able to have such a small that is beginning to fill up with of where I have been.

I started a new A6 to take out and about with me and practice some plein air
This is one of my first paintings in it from my week away in I managed to finish it just before the rain set in!

Where Maclise differs from his contemporaries is his bright colours, his focus on narrative & an interest in Celtic & Gaelic legends. Waterfall at St Nighton’s Kieve, near Tintagel (1842), A Scene from Undine (1843) & Rosalind & Cecilia (1845). These are v Victorian ladies.
