I understand there hasn't been much updates regarding my models and animation practices lately. It's because I'm in the midst of upgrading!
There's tool for Blender called "Toonkit" which allows you to make expertly made cel shaded renders.
I'll make an animation with it soon!

アウトラインは背面法(+ベベル)です(もともと背面法前提でモデルを作らないと綺麗に出ないですよね...)
それにしてもテレビシリーズを参考に作ったモデルなので、映画と比べると顔が幼いですね
More development of the combined ToonKit OSL shader Direct + Regular Cycles Indirect. 100 samples. Got the metals working nicely now. Need some work on the hair and face, then its time to test out LANPR lines. #b3d
Here's a mix of ToonKit OSL shaders and Cycles indirect light - in the same material! The Cycles shaders are only getting Indirect lighting, so I can just add it to my toonKit shader. Now I have full control of toon, and still have reflections. #b3d
GPU Shaders mixed with ToonKit OSL line art (and some Freestyle.) Flexible, but takes a lot of setup. I have a GPU Scene and a CPU scene with instanced objects that having different Object Indices. The Object Index is used to mix between regular shaders and ToonKit ones. #b3d
Rebuilt my Miku toon shader using Cycles ToonKit OSL nodes. Pretty happy with it! Now I can tint my shadows and use normal editing without artifacts. But if I want bounce light, will have to composite it from a GPU layer. #b3d
