Some officers in the Army of the Atlantic Crown wear a tie with their jumpsuit. This is a choice that dates back to WW2, but also a symptom of the visible humanitarian role that the army plays in Vekllei and Africa.

General infantrymen still wear conventional fatigues.

They were, but kids were making their own zines long before the end of ww2, around the 1800's.
They ranged from the cheap Akahon (red books) to the more expensive hard cover collections.
It was Post-WW2 that there was a boom because JP was so entertainment deprived.

26: Charolate (Charlotte)
"SUPER"
During WW2, a malfunctioning spacebridge opened wormholes across spacetime, one of which brought this woman here from another world.
She joined Katie and the Allied Forces to find her way home... but did she ever make it back?

WHO ARE THE COMPANY MEN?
Grown in a lab during the height of WW2, Abbot was America's first superhuman. Unfortunately (?) Hitler killed himself before they could meet. Growing ever strong and seemingly ageless, Abbot is the muscle of the team who searches for a purpose in life.

Henry Moore's 'shelter drawings,' made during WW2, hold a crucially important position in his career. In artistic terms, the echoes of the draped figures would resonate through many of his great sculptures of the following decade.

Sad to read Raymond Briggs has died. Many will of course know him for Snowman but his fictionalised autobiography ‘Ethel and Ernest’ covering was very powerful too & shows the value of fiction in our understanding of WW2, especially for young minds: https://t.co/TeFSjyX2bx

Site 01 - a comm node at Belorusskaya metro station. It was not quite ready for the Soviet entry into the WW2, but was used during most of it.

While it was built before nuclear era it was retrofitted to deal with new challenges later. Sadly it was not made into a museum 1/n

My book Kitted Out, about youth culture & style in WW2, came out at the height of the pandemic & struggled to find an audience.

Its funny when you put so much work into a book but it fizzles out after publication. But so many amazing stories I explored. I'll share some...

I love the way Cap is characterized in Spider-Man: Life Story. The Vietnam War wasn't as clear-cut as WW2, and he doesn't know where he stands. He becomes a fugitive to the US and helps refugees on both sides. One of Cap's most notable facets is his tendency to rebel.

I looked at historical photos of actual resistance fighters in WW2, this was mostly the type of clothing they wore. It was just a combination of regular citizen clothing and/or German captured military clothing or British SOE clothing

The Satinsky vascular clamp was created by American cardiothoracic surgeon Victor Paul Satinsky (1912-1997). After serving as a surgeon in WW2, he joined the Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia (which closed in 2019) and played a role in developing coronary bypass surgery!
