Afternoon, class! Tonight at 6pm EST, let's try to get to the end of Alcahest for Super Famicom. It's been a blast so far, and I'm excited to see what else the game has to show us. It's a real shame this didn't come out in the West back in the day, it deserves more love!

I'd say this is one of HAL's best SNES games! While the story is unimpressive, the gameplay is fun and VERY forgiving, and the game's pacing is remarkable, its lenght feels just right. Its excellent Jun Ishikawa OST, of course, also deserves a mention

a great action-RPG by HAL with an absolutely incredible soundtrack by jun ishikawa! it’s very hard, one of the hardest games i’ve ever beaten (especially that final boss, jesus christ) but the continue system is lenient enough to make it fun
You can collect & summon Guardians in Alcahest, a JPN exclusive for the SNES!
Guardians each represent one of the elements & have two different attacks. Magna the Android & Nevis the dragon shapeshifting goddesss will also join your party.
