per my comment about it in my cats tweet: in the 90s, steven spielberg’s animation company amblimation was working on an adaptation of CATS that was ultimately canceled when the studio went under in 1997. but a lot of concept art for it was produced and we really missed out tbh

I found even more character designs from the scrapped animated version of Cats from Amblimation we could've gotten had they not been shut down. Compared to the designs from the live action film, these designs are seriously masterpieces. Man, what we could've gotten.
