#marchofthemammals2022 Day 9, Ambulocetus natans
Ambulocetus natans, “walking whale”, was an early amphibious cetacean. It lived in the jungles that covered what is now India around 48mya. While it maintained four legs for walking on land, its streamlined body made it much more suited for life underwater

Ambulocetus was an extinct whale from my home country Pakistan. It was certainly fun to draw such a creature, that was pivotal in the evolution of whales.
Some work progress pics.
My latest piece: "A primitive Whale"
An Ambulocetus. Pakistan circa 48 million years ago.
@GuttedGoblin Calicotherium, Ambulocetus and Hyrachyus(or anything of the sorts)!
