I’ve been working on my aphantasia for a while now and I have progress to report. At the beginning of it I was a 5; but now after rigorous practice for 2 yrs i now am mostly 4 sometimes 3. Still have yet to observe color in my head tho 😥 lmk your score?

I use #AIart only to make the concept of a TTRPG character when I want to see if the colors o what colors may work on them.

Mainly because I've Aphantasia. And I need references and tools to visualize. Because the concept is there but I can't see it.

Fun fact, the idea from "Ophelia", my latest edition drop was triggered from the AI image I generated. I do utilize AI once in a while to help me with idea exploration. Help with my aphantasia head.

This is when I just started digital art, so I had a terrible grasp of colours/shading, and hadn’t fully realized yet I had aphantasia. I thought needing references made me a bad artist, but it made me a better one ❤️

Talent only gets you so far in art, if you're not willing to put in the hard work? Then you'll never get far.

I say this as an artist with aphantasia, I've learned to draw around my inability to 'see' mental imagery while I work.

a lot of the ugliness of my initial sketches comes down to my aphantasia. i need colours and shapes more than i need clean lines. it's actually better for me if the initial sketch is *wrong* because then the rest of the drawing is problem solving

Another #ArtistOnTwitter here! It's been a rough couple years health wise, my hands have dexterity issues and I have aphantasia but I keep chugging along. Weird critters and birds are my jam

btw what's aphantasia? it's the lack of ability to mentally generate image. My mental memory isn't trained well enough for me to 100% part with reference, what I'm doing is, to have multiple references. The more the better. And dump them in moodboard, like below.

It's insane what AI art is becoming. Started messing around with it and I'm blown away. As someone with complete Aphantasia, using words to describe what I want the AI to produce is a unique experience. It's like having a computer be the "mind's eye" I don't have.
