Haida's concept/ design (final or not) was done way before Athabaskan's but the design kept changing. A lot of the design is referenced from photos I took when I visited the museum ship a few years ago.

I guess as long as we're talking about mashing up elements of wendigo and skinwalker stories, it's worth noting that wendigo are an Algonquian story and Skinwalkers are more of a Navajo (and by a broader stroke Southern Athabaskan) one, which are completely different cultures.
