Looking forward to this release... Leo Baxendale's Badtime Bedtime Stories... I think these stories were likely the inspiration for the Jack The Nipper game? @hardistymark @2000AD https://t.co/kWwAEsO6DP

Here’s another example of Leo Baxendale getting naughty and redrawing an episode of The Bash Street Kids (originally from BEANO BOOK 1960) as The Tiddlers in WHAM! comic (from a rival publisher) some five years later:

Whoa hey it's #PortfolioDay My name is DJ Baxendale and I love to draw original characters and do a whole lot of world building for them!

This is one of the few BUSTER covers by Leo Baxendale. It is also one of the very rare occasions when Buster looses his trademark cap. As far as I know, this only happened four times during the 40-year run!
Minnie the Minx battle scene by Leo Baxendale in Beano No. 714 from 1956.
Jonah makes a guest-appearance in this episode of the Bash St Kids by Leo Baxendale in The BEANO No. 1026 (March 17th, 1962):
Ace from Space in 1955 was not only the last text story in The Beano, but also had illustrations by Leo Baxendale:
The Beano of Sept. 16th, 1961 was special because it was the paper's 1,000th edition. What I find surprising is that the episode of Bash Street Kids is a doctored b/w reprint from The Beano No. 778. It was the only reprint during the Leo Baxendale period of the strip.
Mid-50s was a busy period for Leo Baxendale as it were, but Beano editor occasionally gave him even more work, asking him to stand-in for other artists. Dennis the Menace episode, however, is the only one by Leo I’ve seen (or at least I think I can recognize his style there)...
Notice that it’s three years since the great Leo Baxendale died. Here’s our chat with Davy Jones about Baxendale, which also could serve as the perfect Talking About Drawing warm up for our forthcoming episode this week about Gary Larson. https://t.co/HeNwuBANy5
Ken Reid’s Roger the Dodger and Leo Baxendale’s Little Plum in The Beano No. 603 at about this time of the year in 1954 – a week before Leo’s When The Bell Rings (aka The Bash Street Kids) joined the fun and made the comic even more hilarious!
A nice festive episode of The Three Bears by Leo Baxendale from the Beano No. 962 cover-dated 24th December 1960. Happy Holidays!
