Oh yeah and there was my absurdly gigantic Azhdarchids in human environments era.
I KNOW THE MEME IS WITH TAILLESS/SHORT TAILED AZHDARCHIDS BUT BEAR WITH ME
Name: Hatzegopteryx
Diet: Carnivore
Temperament: !!!!!
Of all pterosaurs, none are quite as feared as the Azhdarchids.. they are feared not only for how odd they look from other pterosaurs but also because they’re for a lack of better words “Storks from the underworld”.
Happy #PterosaurPtuesday! This is Aerotitan! An #Azhdarchid pterosaur from #Cretaceous #Argentina named in 2012 based on the tip of the lower jaws. As such, not much is known about it, but may have been similar to other Azhdarchids, like Alanqa.

Zhejiangopterus! One of the smallest Azhdarchids still bearing an 11.5 ft wingspan! First step in a project involving wall decals…
Have some pic I did for no explicable reason and a two headed wyvern inspired by Azhdarchids #Art #Kaiju #Zilla #Godzilla1998 #Biollante
#smaugust day 2 -- wyvern!
2 legs, 2 wings.... azhdarchids count, right? XD
#paleoart #azhdarchidae #gouache
THATS IT, I’M GIVING AZHDARCHIDS HUMAN FEET, EXPECT IT SOON!!
@digital_duck @LVRDeinonychus @colintrevorrow @ILMVFX Minor anatomical quirks aside, he was definitely the first artist to approach the modern vision of azhdarchids too. It’s hard to believe these Paul pieces are from around the same time as these ones by Sibbick. The first one here was hugely influential to me as a kid.
A group of #velociraptor (2 males, 1 female) hunt a group of young azhdarchids
new and old, new one is from 5 minutes ago and old one is from late 2020. i got better at drawing azhdarchids... this is an unfinished fossil fighters oc's vivosaur, who i may one day finally draw
Hey, why not! Let's promote our prehistoric work with #PrehistoricPlanet too!
I got you Tarbosaurus, some cool azhdarchids, and le gasp, *the* Opisthocoelicaudia!
@MarkWitton and I examined the skeletal proportions, cranial anatomy and sedimentological setting of #Quetzalcoatlus and other #azhdarchids and concluded that they were strongly adapted for quadrupedal walking in terrestrial settings... 2/n
Our view of what #Quetzalcoatlus and other #azhdarchids were like mostly has its genesis in Witton & Naish (2008). Azhdarchids are the most distinctive and unusual of #pterosaurs, and views on how they might have lived have varied considerably (vintage images shown here!)... 1/n
