Queen Elizabeth II makes an appearance a few of my pictures. I placed her in the crowd on #Bankside in my @The_Globe picture after reading that as a young woman she often snuck out of the palace to go to public places.

At the foreshore a flint
Possibility, ex-Roman
Was laid at my feet
By the brown tidal wake
The beach of vast piles
At Bankside briefly emerge
Worker’s timelines in brick
And tile. Like a furtive ghost
I slip heavy holes into my work bag
That weigh my shoulder

I did a flag design for Bankside a few years ago. Mine was a cheeky loopback at the history of the place. @NBStudio organised the project and they hung in Borough market.
I'm the short one holding mine on the riverbank.

In my #Galway Too print you can find all The Tribes of Galway included. Some in unexpected ways. See it in person @BanksideGallery while having a day out around #Bankside
My latest picture #Galway Too is part of @re_printmakers #OriginalPrints that can be viewed on #Bankside Gallery website & (fingers crossed) from 17 May in person @BanksideGallery itself. When you go try and spot the leprechauns I hid in my picture. Here is a detail showing one.

Delighted to say that I have been elected to the Royal Watercolour Society . I have been trying for a year or two and am so pleased to join so many brilliant artists and to show in the wonderful Bankside Gallery. You are initially elected as an associate member so I am now ARWS.
Bankside Gallery will be reopening its doors in May! 🎉
Until then, enjoy supporting your local small businesses - and remember to be patient with the retail workers going above & beyond to ensure that we have a smooth transition out of lockdown 💙

'Cranes at Bankside,' (1946) was one of 19 paintings John Minton made based on the quays and wharves around Southwark and Bankside which earnt him the title of 'urban romantic.' The critic Michael Middleton said Minton created: 'richness without the loss of poetic intensity.'
