This Reindeer in the Bathysphere says: “Although I have the gift to fly, my favorite place is not the sky. Alone in darkest, deepest sea, within this orb I’m truly free.” 🦌🤿⚓️

Alright, here's a concept of "Cronk" planned originally to be a black creature in a suit, which I thought was unoriginal, so instead I designed him with inspiration from one of the fishes from the "bathysphere untouchable fish incident" or whatever it's called.

Whew, it's been a little while since I drew one of these! Meet Mudskipper, Deep Land Explorer. Her bucket is her bathysphere.

I may have gone a teensy bit overboard with the intermediate blending shades on this one, but gosh was it -fun.-

The Fantastic Adventures of Alexander the Great Part 2:
Alexander the Great being awoken once again by a nightmare of his bathysphere incident, while on campaign in Asia.
circa. 328 BCE.

(Hephaestion is used to it by now and tries to comfort his boyfriend as best he can.)

Alexander the Great inside his bathysphere, seeing the ocean underwater for the first time.
circa. 330 BCE.

(Sorry I got lazy with the second image, I'd love an actual artist to redo my crappy art attempt 🤣)

Some of my favorite lesser-known cryptids out there are William Beebe’s “untouchable” fish. In the 1930s, he supposedly saw several bizarre species in the dark from inside his bathysphere. We have still yet to find any physical evidence of these fish beyond his descriptions.

Took a breather from the world to discover the deep with Otis & Will. As illustrator, I marveled at ‘s rendering of water, in stillness, in tumult, & how she recreated scenes. tells a nail biter of a true story of the ❤️
