In 's paper on upcycling Victorian fiction & art to create notions of monstrosity we were treated to a selection of images from the work of Colin Batty (Victorian cabinet cards with monstrous additions) & Charlotte Cory (Victorian photos with taxidermy heads).

We could take a walk around, maybe visit South Union Street, go down to the harbour, watch the ships unload and admire Victoria Arch....

We hope you had a good journey to the city. Did you you come by train? Sadly, the first Tay Bridge ended in tragedy, but the second, begun 1882 & opened 1887 (think McGonagall wrote a poem about this) is still going strong
