The narrator questions the truth of tales involving Wukong. Mid-trailer a Great Sage Equal to Heaven looking Wukong stops what looks to be the game's protagonist, Wukong. Later, our narrator lets loose his Celestial Robe hinting that he is Wukong who has achieved Buddhahood.

In Japan, Bashōnosei are banana tree spirits that make faces appear in banana leaves. They scare humans by assuming their forms and suddenly appearing next to them. One famously mocked a monk, asking “Can even inanimate plants attain buddhahood?”
