For some reason, I’ve recently been thinking of this drawing by @americanbeetles , president-elect of @EntCollNet .
We commissioned it a few years ago to thank @JackiWhisenant for volunteering in the WIRC.
[Jacki was recurating our carabids at the time.]
ANYWAY, it is lovely.
Insects of the day. Stalking the caves of southern China are some beautiful freaks, such as these long-necked and eyeless carabids. (a - Xuedytes bellus; b - Giraffaphaenops clarkei; c - Dongodytes grandis). Photos - M Tian. More here: https://t.co/mevS6YYigs
Insects at the reserve included my first Purple Hairstreak (wasn't expecting at all!), Dor Beetles, Darters and a few carabids 🤓
