One of my old works. Meet Aelynthi Sraonchazeri. A half-elf of the Aberrant Mind Sorcerous origin. The theme is a half-mindflayer from a failed ceremorphosis.

character commission from last year. A rogue/pirate had a little ceremorphosis problem.

Decided to make a new character ref, this time for an old one-shot character, Nobrul! They're a Verdan that became a victim of a failed ceremorphosis, granting them enhanced psionic power at the cost of giving them a squid head. Honestly, pretty even trade.

Since all the BG3 info was released, I've been thinking a lot about the idea of a mind flayer whose ceremorphosis is not complete, or who retains memories or vestiges or their humanity.
Would it be like a trapped consciousness?
That's what this art is, a struggle with identity

Ceremorphosis was the process through which a mind flayer tadpole reached maturity: by devouring the brain of a victim host, then painfully morphing their body to become a fully fledged illithid.
