In Shakta Tantra, the fearsome Chinnamasta, brings the Non-Being into Being through brahmarandhra. By doing so, she creates the illusion of the separate, "I - self" identity. Yet in her compassion, she beheads herself, offering the liberation from the illusion she created.

Chinnamasta is fifth mahavidya (comes before Bhairavi & Dhumavati, I missed her out by accident). She is the goddess of very strong & fearsome iconography. Standing naked, with her two maidens, she removes her own head.
