A walk is never just a walk: it’s an observation.

Caught in the showers. A ring around the zoo. Much bird chatter. In particular some Yellow-tailed black cockatoos. “Kee-ow. Kee-ow. Kee-ow”.

Despite hearing the song dozens of times I never thought to check out Lear’s “visages and forms of parrots and cockatoos”.

Between the ages of 18-20 he drew 42 parrots, including some Australian cockatoos. Published 1832.

Tricolour-crested (now Major Mitchell’s) cockatoo.

Thanks for tagging me Harun ✨

My favorite animals are parrots, but more specifically cockatoos. They're so emotive and full of personality.

I don't have a lot of new stuff to share because I've been working on the webcomic. But it's coming along ✌️

Ok so I tried a few palettes out on Clyde, def want him to be more of a cockatoo, so I've gave him the colours of a galah(1), red tailed black(2), and gang gang(3) cockatoos. And also a raven(4) palette cause Tolop told me to.

I'm strongly leaning towards Galah to be honest.

Watched in total awe this Brown Goshawk attempt to upset a group of roosting Cockatoos.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
Here’s a sort of Valentine’s Day themed piece (there are hearts in the background so it counts)

I painted a red tailed black cockatoo, one of my favorite cockatoos. The background is made from a technique called "gelli printing," and the bird is acrylic.

If there is a particular feature about Cockatiels or Cockatoos... is the fact they are really expressive.
So, I tried to replicate it in one way or another!
