Definitely one of my favorite series in terms of world building and plotting. The characters constantly developed and get recontextualized, reveal after reveal. S1 art may seem like an obstacle, but by S3 the art is really clean.

I'd avoid rebooting Halo, but I'd aggressively retcon, reframe and recontextualize media for incoming audiences. I feel the modern Halo fan is too selfish, and this is a decision that is above ego. Many 'beloved' aspects...did not work. In good business, bad products are cut.

The worldbuilder in me can't help but contextualize 'em (even as I edit most into legit swords or maces). I imagine the intent is a constable's weapon, most of the time its the bonk, but the blade's there for trouble. IRL impractical, but look who's holding them.

I love stories which recontextualize previous stories, especially problematic aspects of the earlier. Gail Simone & Co don't get the credit for twisting the knot of Gen¹³ as strongly & smartly as Batman Year 1 or Avengers Forever. Like five times, minimum, this run makes me cry.
I need to know what was inside Greg Pak's head when he decided to make Skaar a child this whole time actually bc it completely recontextualizes his character and makes him more likable like that's why you're a little shithead you're 10 with poor guidance like he's a baby
