ドイツCottbus市の紋章のザリガニ(Krebs)は極右の標章にも使われる。これを去年Brandenburgの警察がアンチ環境保護団体の写真に使って醜聞に。
なぜザリガニかというと殻と鋏が自衛と抵抗の象徴と見なされるらしい。紋章自体の由来はほかに、再生の象徴(脱皮)、食文化や占星術など、諸説ある。
