best example, what I gave @/GeneralCowslip vs what she made of it.
Damn it still amazes me...
Primula veris, Cowslip associates: 12 species (cf 40 for primrose).
Once common in hay meadows, hedgerows, the rides & margins of ancient woods, populations declined mostly in proportion to the loss of grassland habitat 1930–1980.
Schmeil, Lehrbuch der Botanik. Tafel 20
We planted a single cowslip four or five years ago which bunched up into a clump, so we’ve into four plants, which are all doing well in the raised bed behind the pond.

all the flowers in this design are native irish wildflowers that come into bloom around summertime:
the yellow flowers are cowslips (primula veris), the pink ones are common centauries (centaurium erythyraea), and the lilac ones are sea asters (aster tripolium).

There I couch when owls do cry.
On the bat’s back I do fly

No idea whether it's common knowledge or not so sorry if I'm Captain Obvious here, but if any of you needs refs for patho herbs, the exact plants exist, just under less cool names (Ashen Swish is Cowslip, Svewery is Scarlet Pimpernel, everything else's just various kinds of grass)

On the bat’s back I do fly
After summer merrily.
Merrily, merrily shall I live now ..." Ariel's song #BatAppreciationDay
It's raining today, and there is snow in the forecast! ❄️ In Norfolk, in 1755, Benjamin Stillingfleet observed that the Mountain Cowslip (or Bear's Ears!) was in bud by April 9. On this day, the Nightingale sang. #CalendarOfFlora #SolaceInNature #ThrowbackThursday #OTD
Just got in from #dailywalk with Dog. No new #migrants to accompany singing Chiifies & Blackcap, but did see Cowslip, Primula veris & gorgeous basking Slow worm in a hedgebank here in Pembroke @wildflower_hour
The Mouse & her mother had had an unexpectedly nice evening. Old Fox had left a bottle of Cowslip Wine on their doorstep that morning, which they drank with a quiche aux poireaux & a salad of wild violets. After dinner, with their coffee, they watched Leslie Howard in Pygmalion.
Hi I still love Cowslip and you can't change my miiIIIIIND

It’s kinda weird since I haven’t had any feelings for any other cartoon characters until I found Watership Down two years ago. Cowslip’s (yellow bun) voice (Stephen Fry) gives me chills and Bigwig’s (brown bun) such a dad.
