Kylo Ren
okay some of you might hate me but even though I personally think the sequels are very mid I honestly love how Kylo looks, hood, helmet, and all
plus design wise crossguard sabers are alright
hes an edgy lil shit but that aint an issue to me

Here's a sneak peek of a magic dagger that I’ve been drawing!🖌️🎨☕
It was once used by a famed ranger, who attached a wyvern's tooth to an ancient crossguard of elven make.

Oh I know it's from the trailer! When I mean "via Mordhau" I'm talking about the technique that game is named after! Mordhau (or murder stroke) is a sword technique in which you hold your sword via the blade, using the crossguard as a blunt weapon against armored combatants.

C'mon. This is the least offensive thing about the new trilogy.
Please consider some of the weapons from the expanded universe. From which, crossguard sabers actually existed.

From here I kept working on the POIs. Adding subsequently more layers of detail to already established parts and working my way down to the less important bits.
An interesting change is the crossguard of the sword, which became a disk shape to work niver with all shapes. [3/20]

Here's a quick look at a Knight of Loqus - in my upcoming Star Wars storyboard: Eclipse of the Mind - art by

He wields a heavy BROADSABER: A redesigned crossguard lightsaber that's far less likely to stab yourself in the chest 😮

Splitting the lower part of the crossguard; this way they interlock together so they align well.

Splitting the crossguard; I'll probably keep a version where the base is in one piece for people with a 300x300mm bed, but I'm going to split it down further for people with narrower beds. Also: keys!

So I want this blade to slot out of the gold crossguard/frame. While modeling, I had cut the end of the blade down to what would fit into the slender crossguard, which made this unusual M cut -- when I've done similar swords (She-Ra's Sword of Protection) the end is straight.

Another issue I have with the lightsaber cross guard:

A traditional sword has one or two edges, and the crossguard is there as a form of defense optimized for attack/defense with those edges.

A lightsaber has technically infinite edges... 1/

Legend of Master Sword has a distinct concave ricasso (blunt blade to grip) near it's winged crossguard

I figure it's based on swords found in Denmark tombs, which have those features (but a narrow squared blade)

Katsuya Terada intuitively knew what a ricasso is for:

And yes, Kozaki did come up with the sniper scythe and the crossguard lightsaber in No More Heroes years before RWBY and Star Wars.

Felt it was high time to redesign Watcher's sun sword. I've been meaning to do so for the past year and a half. Much happier with this design now, having fixed the pommel and making the crossguard less wide.

Askeladd’s sword’s crossguard design, but in neon, cause it’s a nice design 😊
