I actually really like this. It's better than Doomblade, I think, and arguably better than Go For the Throat. I'm just trying to think of situations where I'd want to remove counters from a creature other than +1/+1 counters. Maybe something like Lost Auramancers...?

I found another great card that pairs up with Generous Patron. Realistically, there are lots of counters happening in Commander all the time, too. Even without counter enablers happening on you end.

Anybody playing with Aether Rift? I'm curious about it in a Jund reanimator type build, like a creature-heavy Korvold deck or maybe even Gyrus?
