It sure would be nice
if there were a clearly defined shared universe.

That opens the door for many stories
with the entire roster of characters. The comics
have had that since the Golden Age.

Too bad live action eschews it.

I would suggest exploring the source material before criticizing the path comic book film/TV adaptations might follow. ☺️ Comics really are wonderful, and reading them could change your perspective on things.
