Happy #DeafAwarenessWeek , heres a small snipit of my experience as a HOH person ❣️
Actress @RoseAylingEllis is going to be signing the CBeebies bedtime story today, to mark Deaf Awareness Week.
The story will be Can Bears Ski? which is about a young bear with hearing loss.

We hold many records of Surrey organisations, charities & schools that provide care for hearing loss. For #DeafAwarenessWeek we’re sharing this rare & colourful early C19th engraving showing sign language, from the ‘Chertseyana’ scrapbook of Robert Wetton, printer (6516/3/240).
'Can Bears Ski?' is gold. 🙌🏾
This collaboration is golden.👇🏾🧡

#deafawarenessweek Self-induced eardrum perforation caused by cotton bud use is a real possibility. #earwax is only an issue if it is causing discomfort or whistling from a #hearingaid

It's #DeafAwarenessWeek and we know how important it is for all children to see themselves in the world. Gig, a character in our chapter book who is deaf, saves the day using sign language (illus: @Rosamundmcguire). We also have a deaf child in our picture book (illus: @SteveRT1)
Our #DeafAwarenessWeek rec is Max and the Millions by @mossmontmomery. It's difficult to make friends in a big school when you're #deaf, so Max is used to being alone. That is, until he finds an entire civilisation of tiny people in the caretaker's office! https://t.co/3KUI99FvIW
Today marks the beginning of #deafawarenessweek ! An important week to raise awareness and break down stereotypes.

It's #DeafAwarenessWeek so why not learn a new skill and practise the British Sign Language alphabet👌🏼🖐🏽 #signlanguage
My favourite mug! Received this mug from an excellent friend/ex-colleague last year! #deafawarenessweek Try learning to fingerspell your own name today! If you already know your name try learning to spell the names of friends, colleagues or family!
