7/25/72: Marvel relaunches JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY as a horror title (sister book: CHAMBER OF CHILLS) with an eye to classic adaptations and some great original material, but - pro forma - it soon becomes all reprint. This issue also includes the freaky Englehart/Reese "House."
In honor of Steve Englehart's birthday, I'd like to share this classic story by Steve Englehart, Steve Gerber, Sal Buscema, John Verpoorten, Artie Simek, Petra Goldberg, and Roy Thomas.

1/13/76: DOCTOR STRANGE #13 begins with the total destruction of Earth - really - and only grows wilder from there. Comics do not come drawn upon more sweeping canvases; Englehart/Colan could never be accused of thinking small. A mind-blowing head trip, and a favorite splash.
@Comrade_Bullski Englehart also created Shadowman for Valiant and I always thought it was wild that he created not one but two nocturnal vigilantes who were also saxophone players within a two year period.

The first Shang-Chi story featured an all-star creative team, including Steve Englehart (co-creator of Star-Lord) and Jim Starlin (creator of Thanos). However, you may recognise the name of Fu Manchu, or notice the "featuring characters created by Sax Rohmer". What's that about?
I don’t read comics. But this must be a weird way of saying you haven’t read the Englehart Marvel Premiere, the Annihilation version of him with the cyborg eye or when McNiven had him looking like a Power Ranger. He always changes. Catch up with the rest of the class. https://t.co/AXJGSNhFSN
Happy 76th birthday, Santos "Steve" Gan, whose comic book output was not prodigious but it certainly was distinguished. He co-created STARLORD with Steve Englehart, and his time on SKULL with Marv Wolfman was a dinosaur-laden treat. Also did fine Warren work. He retired in 2002.
