A monster from the Scottish isles - about fifty miles from where I grew up.

The Nuckelavee of Orcadian legend is part horse, part humanoid - its breath wilts crops and it was blamed for droughts and epidemics.

Inspired by Starrflesh core, this devil was born in the early 1900 when large-scale epidemics spread through Japan, one of the most prolific one being "the rabies crisis"

Unfortunately we’ve been fighting two “viral” epidemics in the US that we’ll be dealing with for a long time.

Danylo Lavrentiyovych Shumuk described the German POW camp as a 'pit of death with prisoners dying like flies from hunger, exposure and epidemics.'

Medicine and healing are associated with Apollo, whether through the god himself or mediated through his son Asclepius. Apollo delivered people from epidemics, yet he is also a god who could bring ill-health and deadly plague with his arrows.

The Welsh Cyhyraeth is mythological Wraith (Similar to the Irish banshee and Scottish Cailleach) The Cyhyraeth's wail is a portent of death. The Cyhyraeth also sounds for the Welsh dying far from home and her weeping may fortell epidemics or disaster

アマビエ 様 です!
My take on Amabie! 😁

The Amabie is a yokai who apparently said that drawing and distributing its picture would help to stave off epidemics. It clearly predicted the rise of social media as well as COVID-19. 😜

I remember like around March during the beginning of quarantine I first learned about this yokai named Amabie, who is capable of eradicating epidemics. I saw many artists draw Amabie and though I'm MONTHS late to the trend I wanted to draw my take of them!!
